PRESENTATION SLIDES
Using:
BRIEF
The client, a consultancy firm producing specialist industry research, needed to overhaul their presentation slides used by corporate members. Their existing decks were visually outdated, overly text-heavy and difficult to follow, making them ineffective in meetings and damaging to their brand when compared with competitors. The brief was to redesign the slides into a clear, professional and easy-to-use format that would better communicate complex data and insights.
THE PROCESS
I began by auditing the existing slides to identify where clarity was breaking down, particularly around dense text, inconsistent layouts and poorly structured data. I then reworked the content into a series of modular slide types, each designed for a specific purpose such as data reporting, summaries and commentary.
A clear typographic hierarchy, consistent grid system and simplified chart styling were introduced to improve readability and create a more cohesive flow across the presentation.
THE SOLUTION
A flexible, modular slide system was developed to handle a wide range of content while maintaining consistency. Text-heavy slides were broken down into digestible sections, data visualisations were simplified for quicker interpretation and layouts were designed to guide the viewer’s attention.
The updated visual style brings the presentation in line with modern corporate standards, ensuring it feels credible and competitive when used alongside other consultancy firms.
THE RESULTS
The redesigned presentation significantly improves both usability and perception. By introducing a structured, modular template system, report creators can build slides far more efficiently, reducing formatting time and cutting slide creation time by up to 40% across typical monthly report production.
Content was streamlined from approximately 120–150 words per slide to 40–60 words, making information clearer, easier to scan and more engaging for the audience.
A core set of 10–12 flexible slide layouts ensures consistency across all presentations while allowing enough flexibility to handle varied content. The result is a more professional, credible output that the client can confidently present alongside competitors.
